Edith Priscilla Harris 1889 - 1972



Edith Priscilla Harris was baptised 27th February 1889 at St John the Devine Kennington. The family were now living at 53 Wyndham Road Camberwell.

1907 Marriage Edith Priscilla Harris

Edith married Thomas Ellis on 1st December 1907 at Emmanuel Church Camberwell. The certificate below shows they were neighbours with Thomas living at 37 Mansion Street and Edith with her parents at 35.

1911 Census Edith & Thomas Ellis

The 1911 census shows Thomas and Edith living on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. They were living at 17 Castle Street Queenborough. The census shows they have one son, Leslie Thomas Ellis aged one who was born in Queenborough.

Children of Edith & Thomas Ellis

After their marriage Thomas and Edith moved to Kent. They had 6 children.
The only information we have is as follows.
Leslie Thomas Ellis (b 1909), married 1930 Lily E M Fletcher.
Evelyn Edith Ellis (b 1911) married 1941 Leonard Brunger.
Victor Arthur Lionel Ellis (b 1920).Died 1942 - see below.
Daphne V Ellis (b 1924). Died 1937 Rochester Kent.

Pictured above around 1936 are Victor, his mother Edith and her daughter Daphne.
Daphne died towards the end of 1937. Her brother brother Victor died during WW2.

Edith is pictured above with her daughter Evelyn Edith Brunger around 1956.




Edith lived to the age of 83 when she died in 1972 in Chatham Kent.
